What is it like to work with Move It, Move It? It’s like we took all the worst parts about moving, we rolled them altogether into a single package, and we took care of all of it for you. The idea of moving is incredibly exciting! Regardless of the circumstance of your move, you are starting a brand-new chapter in life, and with that chapter comes wildly variable opportunities. It’s almost as if you are pioneering a new frontier of your own life.

But then you start to pack. And UGH. That is never fun. I don’t know why, but I always severely underestimate the amount of time it takes to pack! I think it will be a few hours. What a fool. It becomes a mad dash, stressful 72-hour sprint to get everything boxed before the moving truck gets here. Oy.

Packing Pro Tip: you should prepare for at least 10 boxes per room.

When packing for a move, prepare for at least 10 boxes per room. There are small, medium, and large sized boxes. Most typically need a 1:2:1 ratio.

Packing Pro Tip 2: you should give yourself at least 2 hours per room.

When packing for moving, you want to give yourself about 2 hours per room. Don't wait until the last minute!

Packing Pro Tip 3: pack a separate box of necessities (clothes, toiletries, chargers, etc) and high value items - you will keep this with you at all times.

(1) So you can pre-pack up your house and live a (relatively) normal lifestyle until you move, (2) to keep your valuables with you, because you never know what can happen in a move, (3) you don’t have to worry about finding the right box when you get to your new house.

Keep a separate box of daily use items, toiletries, and clothes with you. That, and your valuables! This is better for both the moving company and your own peace of mind.
